On 23 October, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate marked the 16th anniversary of enthronement of its head. On the eve of the event, Patriarch Filaret served the night service in the Cathedral of St. Volodymyr in Kyiv in concelebration with the bishops and clergy of the Kyivan Patriarchate and on the day of the anniversary, he celebrated a liturgy which ended in a thanksgiving prayer service, reported the web site of UOC-KP.
In the end of the celebratory service, Metropolitan Dymytrii (Rudiuk) of Lviv and Sokal greeted Patriarch Filaret on behalf of all the bishops and the Holy Synod. The patriarch thanked everyone present and addressed the audience with the word of exhortation.
