Kyiv, July 10, SOURCE: Interfax - According to the Segodnya Ukrainian paper, the abbot of Kyiv Lavra of the Caves Monastery might become a victim of poisoning.
"Some time ago Metropolitan Pavel happened to be in an intensive care unit. Later he was treated in Germany where in his blood were found arsenic and quicksilver. These substances were used for poisoning in high society in the Middle Ages," the church press secretary Vasily Anisimov said to the newspaper.
According to him, the abbot himself does not accuse anybody now. "Нe has just returned to Kyiv and will probably appeal to the police," Anisimov said.
